Big companies might leave, warns oil sector

CUTTING CARBON subsidies for trade-exposed heavy emitters could see large companies leave the country, says the oil and gas sector.
The Petroleum Exploration and Production Association of New Zealand, which yesterday released a report saying the Government’s partial ban on new oil and gas exploration could cost the economy $28 billion, says that the allocation of free carbon credits to emissions-intensive exporters should not be phased out yet.
