Govt's moratorium won't affect electricity supply - Caygill

A moratorium on new thermal power plants is unlikely to affect security of supply, says the Electricity Commission.
The commission, which was called to appear before Parliament’s finance and expenditure select committee yesterday to give expert evidence on the climate change bill which includes a 10-year moratorium on the building of new base-load thermal stations, says that administering such a ban would be a new role but is one which it was ready to take up.
