Government knows how we can be carbon-neutral

Planting just over half of New Zealand’s marginal land in forest would make the country carbon-neutral – and the Government knows it.
Tumbling carbon prices have seen a huge drop in the planting of new forests, a situation the Government blames on cycles in the forestry sector, but which the forestry sector on the ability of emitters to use cheap foreign credits to offset emissions under the Emissions Trading Scheme.
