Tumbling carbon prices could trigger the conversion of large tracts of forest into dairy farms, the forestry industry is warning.
Record-low carbon prices mean that it is no longer uneconomic for owners of pre-1990s forests to permanently clear their land, Forest Owners' Association chief executive David Rhodes told Carbon News this morning.
