New Zealand’s home-grown method of accounting for the carbon in forests is to be held up at the Cancun climate change talks as a model to other countries – especially those in the developing world.
In a paper to be released on Monday, commentators describe how this country managed to avoid the prohibitive costs encountered in other countries and bring forestry into an Emissions Trading Scheme.
