Small-forest scheme open for business

Applications are now open for the Government's new Afforestation Grant Scheme aimed at getting more trees planted on farms as part of New Zealand's effort to reduce greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
In announcing yesterday that the fund was open for applications, Forestry Minister Jim Anderton said that it offered an alternative to the proposed New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme.
