Carter quiet on potential of forest carbon credits

Forestry Minister David Carter doesn’t want to talk about the potential for New Zealand forest owners to sell carbon credits to other countries – nor what the Government is doing to help them.
Carter told Carbon News that harmonisation with Australia’s emissions reduction scheme “may lead to increased opportunities for New Zealand forest owners to sell their units into the Australian carbon market”, but refused to comment on what is happening with other countries.
