Airline test raises questions, says biofuel pioneer

Air New Zealand’s biofuel test flight is a “proof point” in the development of a certified aviation biofuel, but questions remain about the crop source, says Blenheim-based Aquaflow.
The national airline released the scientific results from its December test flight last week, but Nick Gerritsen, a director of algae-based biofuel developer Aquaflow, told Carbon News that he is unconvinced about the viability of jatropha as a basis for biofuel.
