Inhibitors no silver bullet, warn farmers

Nitrification inhibitors should not be seen as a one-size-fits-all solution for reducing agricultural emissions, says Federated Farmers in the wake New Zealand’s latest emissions data.
The country’s 2009 net emissions report, released last week, projected that the use of nitrification inhibitors would result in a reduction in agricultural emissions of 0.3 million tonnes during the first commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol.
