Forest owners in plea for more tree-planting

The state of New Zealand’s net greenhouse gas emissions reinforces the need for the Government to do more to encourage new forest planting to avoid future problems, says the Forest Owners' Association.
According to the Ministry for the Environment report, released on Wednesday, New Zealand’s net position is projected to be a surplus of 9.6 million Kyoto Protocol units during the first commitment period.
