Genesis puts another fossil-fuel unit on standby

GENESIS ENERGY says it is advancing plans for more renewable electricity generation – but is also preparing to fire up an extra fossil-fuel turbine at Huntly this winter if needed.
The electricity generator had planned to close down all four of its coal-or-gas-fired Rankine units by 2018, but in 2016 agreed to keep two of the units operational until 2022 because of concerns about security of supply.
