Ten years ago, two of the Government’s support parties joined forces with the Opposition to stop National restricting the number of organisations allowed to make oral submissions on proposed changes to the Emissions Trading scheme.
One hundred and sixty had said they wanted to be heard but the Government proposed hearing just 50, prompting Act and Maori MPs on the select committee considering the Climate Change Response (Moderated Emissions Trading) Amendment Bill to vote with Labour and Green MPs to secure more time for hearings. | Read the story here
