Pioneer system changes hydrocarbons to hydrogen under the bonnet

Mobil is developing an under-the-bonnet system that converts conventional hydrocarbons, such as petrol or diesel, into hydrogen within the engine.
The on-board system is being cited as up to 80 per cent more fuel-efficient than combusting petrol or even diesel, and will render 45 per cent less carbon dioxide than conventional-vehicle petrol or diesel engines.
