Don't rule out GE as a solution, say farmers

GENETIC modification should not be ruled out by the Government as a solution for climate change and other environmental issues, Federated Farmers says.
Last week, climate minister and Green Party co-leader James Shaw told Parliament that he did not think it was necessary to relax tight controls on genetic engineering in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture.
