THE REGENERATION of vast areas of carbon-storing native forests is being hampered by “pickiness” over the definition of carbon forests.
Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment Dr Jan Wright has said that restoring a million hectares of marginal farmland to native forest could sequester 17 per cent of the methane and nitrous oxide coming off farms.
