Govt wants to break new ground for tree planting

THE GOVERNMENT says it’s working on new ways to get more native and exotic trees in the ground.
It is under increasing pressure to not only reverse New Zealand’s net deforestation, but also to increase the amount of native forest sequestering carbon in a bid to buy the country time to start cutting greenhouse gas emissions.
