A family which made its fortune in the laundry business has given $100 million to support environmental and educational projects.
Neal and Annette Plowman have already spent an undisclosed amount buying the lease of Rotoroa Island, in the Hauraki Gulf, and restoring it for the people of Auckland, and have been involved in a funding restoration in Abel Tasman
National Park and the Teach First NZ programme.
