Forest owners tell ETS body: Our burden is unfair

The forestry industry’s displeasure at being the only sector left in the early stages of the emissions trading scheme reached Parliament yesterday.
Forestry entered the ETS this year – the first industry to do so – and was expected to be joined by transport next year, but last week the Government announced that transport would not now enter the scheme until 2011. Agriculture will come in in 2013.
