Changes not enough, NZ Steel tells government

New Zealand Steel will today tell the Government that it still wants an exemption from the emissions trading scheme - despite Government moves yesterday to soften the impact of the scheme on big emitters.
Spokesman Tony Wright told Carbon News that burning carbon was an integral part of the chemistry of steel-making, and therefore emissions could not be reduced.
