ETS inaction puts focus on transport

The Government will need to use regulations or incentives to cut emissions from the transport sector if it is serious about reducing this country’s emissions levels, an expert in public policy says.
Jonathan Boston, of Victoria University’s School of Government, says that the Government’s business-as-usual approach to amending the ETS means that, for the foreseeable future, the scheme will do little to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
