Insurer backs off forest-damage protection

Insurer NZI has put on hold plans to offer forest owners protection against accidental carbon loss while it waits for the carbon market to bed in.
Protection against the accidental loss of carbon is one of the most difficult issues facing forest owners, with climate change expected to increase the number of trees lost from storms, fires, pests and diseases.
