Govt agencies keen to support seabed mining

Government agencies including Crown Minerals are keen to support the mining of massive deposits of sulphide on the seabed.
Many of the specialised skills required in sulphide mining are already resident in New Zealand, including submersibles-handling and the cable-laying technology that underpins the extraction of the undersea ores.
