Beware of 'carbon cowboys', foresters warned

“Carbon cowboys” with no forestry knowledge are looking to make a quick buck from carbon trading at the expense of forest owners, says Environmental Intermediaries and Trading Group founder Richard Hayes.
His comments follow revelations at a recent Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry briefing on the emissions trading scheme organised by the New Zealand Institute of Forestry, where a number of forest owners complained about bad advice received from unnamed forestry consultants.
