Solid Energy on trail of carbon accounting

State-owned coal miner Solid Energy says it is well on the way to tracking carbon in its operations, but can’t say yet how the emissions trading scheme will affect the price of coal next year.
Solid Energy communications manager Eammon Conaghan told Carbon News that systems for the complicated business of accounting for carbon right through the company’s supply and production chains would be in place by the time the stationary energy sector enters the scheme on January 1.
