South Taranaki offshore wind a step closer

OFFSHORE wind power is a step closer for South Taranaki, with the NZ Super Fund and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) preparing to take wind measurements.
The NZ Super Fund and CIP have jointly submitted a pre-activity notice to the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) for deploying a floating wind measurement device – a Floating Light Detection And Ranging device, or FLiDAR – 37km off the South Taranaki Coast.
