First priority of COP26 ending exponential economic growth: Wise Response

THE Wise Response Society, a group of eminent New Zealanders that includes scientists, engineers, lawyers (former PM Sir Geoffrey Palmer among them), artists and sports people is calling on the government to promote the end of exponential economic growth at COP26.
In an open letter to prime minister Jacinda Ardern and minister of climate James Shaw, the group outlines its argument for an end to unsustainable economic growth and the case for the rich world to make the necessary sacrifices to keep the world from breaching the 1.5 degree target.
