Millions pour into ag emission reduction research projects

Research into the mitigation of agricultural emissions is the biggest beneficiary of the first $5m allocated by the Government under its Plan of Action for Sustainable Land Management and Climate Change.
Announcing the allocations last Thursday, Agriculture Minister Jim Anderton said more than 80 applications had been received to a total value of $12m, of which 45 from 25 organisations received funding. Of the five categories funded, by far the greatest number of allocations – 17, worth $1,831,610 - went towards the mitigation of agricultural emissions.
