Unions call for a just transition

Unions are calling for large-scale public investment as part of a “just transition” to a carbon-zero future in their submissions to the Climate Commission’s draft report.
First Union, in its submission, points out, that if New Zealand were to commit the same proportion of its GDP as the US is with the Biden administration’s American Rescue plan it would be spending an additional NZ$29 billion over the next year.
