Few Air NZ passengers offset emissions

Only a fraction of people flying to and from New Zealand are offsetting the greenhouse gas emissions from their flights, according to Air New Zealand figures.
Emissions from international air travel are not covered by the Kyoto Protocol or the Paris Agreement, but Air New Zealand operates a voluntary offsetting system in which customers can choose to pay money to cover their emissions.
