Natural gas not the solution, claims new report

NATURAL GAS is not a transition fuel to a low-carbon economy – and the Government should go further than just banning all new offshore exploration licences, a new report says.
The oil industry says the Government’s announcement last month that it will not issue any new offshore oil and gas exploration permits fails to account for the role that natural gas can play as a bridging fuel between emissions-intensive fuels like coal and cleaner fuels.
