Baring Head records show CO2 on the rise

ATMOSPHERIC carbon dioxide in the Southern Hemisphere continues to rise, with testing at Wellington’s Baring Head now consistently recording around 401 parts per million.
The Baring Head record is the longest-running in the Southern Hemisphere. Samples are taken when southerly winds are blowing, with the air coming straight from Antarctica and uncontaminated by urban areas.
