World doesn't have time for pessimism, says IPCC man

By editor ADELIA HALLETT.- IPCC deputy chair Professor Jean-Pascal van Ypersele says he hasn’t got time to be pessimistic about whether the world will take action to avoid catastrophic climate change.
“Am I frustrated? Yes,” he said in Wellington this morning where he was about to meet New Zealand’s Climate Change Minister Tim Groser, “but I am not pessimistic. Wringing my hands would be a waste of energy.”
