Lobby group wants think tank to set emissions target

An environmental lobby group is calling for a cross-sector working group on New Zealand’s post-2020 emissions reduction target.
In its submission on New Zealand’s proposed Intended National Determined Contribution, the Environmental Defence Society says that the Government consultation process for setting New Zealand’s target will result in “large numbers of submissions calling for either more or less robust targets for 2025 or 2030, depending on the interests of the submitter”.
