Australia's first carbon trade cheap and symbolic

Australia’s first carbon trade was well below international market levels and should be viewed as largely symbolic, says local trading house OM Financial.
Westpac has bought 10,000 tonnes of carbon credits from power company AGL at $19A a tonne. That’s equal to $23.50NZ – well below the current CER price of $36.90.
