Foreign foresters might sue over ETS changes

New Zealand might face claims under free-trade agreements for losses caused as a result of changes to the Emissions Trading Scheme.
In May, the Government used Parliamentary urgency to pass an unheralded and unexpected ban on post-1989 forest owners leaving the Emissions Trading Scheme from using international Kyoto credits to meet their exit carbon
obligations.
