Inaction will cost billions, warns White House

The world could face economic consequences worth billions of dollars if it doesn't act now to curb global warming, the White House warns.
Allowing warming to pass safe levels and reach 3deg Celsius could cause damage amounting to 0.9 per cent of global economic output each year, according to a report this week from the White House's Council of Economic Advisers.
