The Government says that it is effectively closing the arbitrage opportunity for industrial emitters from the middle of next year.
Foresters say the Government’s anti-arbitrage move in this month’s Budget is unfair because it singles them out while allowing industrial emitters to continue to make money by replacing NZUs they are given by taxpayers with cheaper units – potentially pocketing millions of dollars in profit.
