Maori unhappy about having to back carbon move

The Maori Party says it is being forced against its will to support Government moves to stamp out arbitrage by one sector of the carbon market.
An unheralded clause in the Budget Measures (Miscellaneous Fiscal Matters) Bill introduced into Parliament last night will, if passed, mean that the owners of post-1989 forests exiting the Emissions Trading Scheme may use only NZUs to meet their exit obligations.
