Two billion trees planted to fight climate change

More than two billion trees were planted around the world as part of the UN's campaign to combat climate change, the world body's environment programme (UNEP) said this week. |
The Nairobi-based agency said the tree planting campaign, inspired by Kenyan Nobel Peace laureate Wangari Maathai, will help to mitigate the effects of pollution and environmental deterioration.
