Big landowners take centre stage at ETS hearings

Some of New Zealand’s biggest land owners today will put their argument to Parliament’s finance and expenditure select committee for more flexibility under the emissions trading bill.
In February, the Flexible Land Use Alliance – which includes Carter Holt Harvey, Fonterra, the Forest Owners’ Association, Landcorp, Wairakei Pastoral, PF Olsen, Blakely Pacific and Forest Enterprises – issued a report calling for more flexibility under the ETS for forestry offset scheme.
