Little point in NZ carbon trading currency, says business group

A second major business group is suggesting that New Zealand should be using international carbon instruments instead of creating its own currency.
The New Zealand Business Council for Sustainable Development, which represents 73 companies including some of our heaviest greenhouse-gas emitters, told Parliament’s finance and expenditure select committee last night that with transport now out of the emissions trading scheme until 2011, there is little point in a local currency.
