We waste one-third of world’s food every year

The waste of 1.3 billion tonnes of food each year is causing economic losses of $750 billion and significant damage to the environment, according to a new United Nations report.
Food Wastage Footprint: Impacts on Natural Resource is the first study to analyse the impacts of global food wastage from an environmental perspective, looking specifically at its consequences for the climate, water and land use, and biodiversity.
