National says it is carefully avoiding “running the politics” on climate change and won’t finalise its climate-change policy until at least July, when it sees Australia’s proposals.
The party’s climate change spokesman, Nick Smith, told Carbon News that National supports an ETS in principle and he is working to get as much information as possible from New Zealand’s select committee process and from Australia’s proposals due out in July, before taking a position.
