ETS submission: Clarify forest ownership

The Emissions Trading Scheme is forcing forests out of the ownership of custodian trusts, a Parliamentary select committee has heard.
In a submission on proposed changes to the ETS, Forest Enterprises managing director Steve Wilton says that the scheme has the “perverse effect” of forcing the ownership of forest land out of the custodian trust of professional corporate trustee companies into separate special-purpose companies.
