Industry slams Govt biofuel backdown

The Government’s decision to stop subsidising biofuel development and to allow Solid Energy to retreat from the alternative fuels is damaging, the industry says.
Crown-owned coal-miner Solid Energy announced this week that it would exit its Nature’s Flame wood pellet and Biodiesel NZ investments, saying it had to write down $26 million on the subsidiaries.
