$200,000 grant backs computer collection scheme

A community collection scheme for keeping end-of-life home computers out of landfills has been backed by a $200,000 grant from the Government’s Sustainable Management Fund.
Among the main tasks of the scheme, run by the Computer Access NZ Trust (CANZ), is to intercept burn-ups of old PCs which contributes measurably to the carbon emissions problem; and also to divert the equipment from landfills.
