Major ETS change looks like payoff to Act

Politics might be behind a Government decision not to impose restrictions on the importation of international carbon credits into the Emissions Trading Scheme.
With a glut of carbon credits in Europe pushing international prices so low that foresters are sayinig it is no longer worth planting trees, the Government had proposed restricting the number of international carbon credits that New Zealand emitters could use to meet their obligations.
