NZIER sets cat among political pigeons

Two days after being revealed exclusively by Carbon News, the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research’s (NZIER’s) report into the costs of the Government’s planned emissions trading scheme (ETS) is sending shock-waves through Parliament.
The report’s claims that it will cost 20,000 jobs, cut economic growth by billions of dollars and take $3000 out of individual households’ annual spending has suddenly thrust the ETS into the political spotlight.
