Tread carefully with jobs, say unions

Unions are calling for a managed labour-market transition to carbon charging to avoid widespread job losses and pay cuts.
Yesterday Carbon News revealed that the New Zealand Institute for Economic Research was predicting that an emissions trading scheme would cost 22,000 jobs by 2012, would see wage rates cut of $2.30 an hour by 2025, and would cost households $600 a year by 2012 and between $3000 and $5000 a year by 2025, depending on the price of carbon.
