UN chief raps Asia-Pacific for dragging the chain

The Asia-Pacific region is lagging behind in providing access to energy services, says UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
Some 1.7 billion people in the region are using traditional biomass fuels and one billion people still lack access to electricity, he told a Bangkok meeting of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
